Stephanie Zuniga and Aerial Chavarin, who play on Coach Jon Nishimoto’s U15 Botafogo '96, have been called up by the U.S. national team youth program. Zuniga, who took part in a U-15 national team camp in May, returns for nine-day training camp beginning Aug. 20. The camp at the Home Depot Center in Southern California coincides with the camp for players one year older seeking to make next year's U-17 national team that will attempt to qualify for the 2012 U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan. Earlier this month, Chavarin took part in the U-14 national team’s annual identification camp for players born in 1997 or 1998. She was among 72 of the nation’s most talented players being evaluated, and was afterward one of the 36 players invited to a Sept. 18-25 training camp for players who will form the core of the 2012 U-15 national player pool.
Check out this video interview with Stephanie and this game highlights.

Bay Oaks Elite 99 defends Title at Ballistic Summer Classic |
The Elite 99 team had a slow start in the tournament tying its first two games. The first game was a 1-1 tie. Though the team generally dominated the game, they missed many opportunities to score. The second game was similar to the first. Elite '99 took 12 shots against 2 shots from their opponent but failed to score.
Elite '99 went into their last game vs local rivals Ballistic knowing they had to win to stay alive. The game was hard fought. Elite '99 scored first only to see Ballistic fight right back with a nice goal. With ten minutes left and Ballistic pressing hard, Elite '99 managed to counter attack to score the game winning goal. Ballistic applied more pressure in their search for the equalizing goal however, Elite's new goalkeer Jordan Martinez stepped up to the plate saving two point blank shots to ensure the victory.
