Grade 8 Referee Class in March |

EBUSC has arranged for a Grade 8 Referee license class, (Youth referee license - entry level, not grade level.) scheduled. Anyone who is 14 on or before the date of the exam may attend. You must attend all sessions to take the test, each team MUST have at least one referee.
3/11/14, 3/13, 3/18, 3/20, 3/25/14 - 6:30pm to 9:30 pm
The field session is 3/22 -8am-11am. The location is Lincoln Middle School in Alameda. If you want to attend or know someone who can attend, please send/have them send the following information to

Zermeno leads Mexico to U-20 World Cup |

Paloma Zermeno, who played for Coach Katie Teekell’s EBU Bay Oaks Speed Demons '94, scored four goals for Mexico in its successful quest to qualify for the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup.
In the 3-1 win over Costa Rica in the Concacaf U-20 Championship semifinals, Zermano scored the tying goal with a strike that was considered the goal of the tournament.
She also scored two goals in a 6-0 win over the Cayman Islands and once in a 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago. She ended tied for third among tournament leading scorers.
After the semifinal that clinched World Cup qualification for Mexico, Zermano started for El Tri as it fell, 4-0, to the USA to finish runner-up.

The U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held in Canada Aug. 5-24.

Goalkeeper Billy Knutsen, who reached the Cal North State Cup final in 2009 with Bay Oaks Gold, was picked by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft with the 17th pick of the fourth round.
Knutsen, a graduate of San Francisco's St. Ignatius Prep, played college ball at American University for four seasons.
